Are you sure he wasn't pulling your leg?  If a person says they have sextons, it sounds to me like they're bragging.

 

And no, I haven't heard of any breed or cross by that name.

Try Googling perhaps? Never heard of this breed.

A sexton is a church official. A sex link is a cross created for maximum egg production and immediate sexing as chicks.  I agree sith SilkiesForEver those look like red and black sex links pictured on his site.

sexton: is a Rhode island red and white leghorn mix, also known as red sex link. I have heard them used as the same.
