Okay, wasn't sure the best forum to start this but figured since we were going to talk about egg laying this one would work.  This was a suggested thread on another site and I thought it might be fun to hear from around the world.  Just post your temperatures for the day, how many eggs (if any) you collected, and what breed (if you know) laid them.

Yesterday we had a high of 37degrees F.

We got 7 eggs from 17 layers in a mixed flock (see profile below).

Look forward to seeing others reports!

It was 33 here and I got 3 eggs out of my three hens:)
I dont know what breed they are but was told they were RIR mixes.
I also put a heat lamp/artificial lighting in theircoop and about 5 days after that they started to lay again!

Sounds like spring has begun! We are getting 8/9 out of 12 on a regular basis.

Anyone have experience with Banty Cochins? We bought a little girl in Nov. who will be two years old this spring and the seller said she was molting and had stopped laying. We have yet to get an egg from her. Anyone have any guesses (bets) on when she will start?

Congrats!!!! Saw your post on the Fav. thread. We had one red sex-link go broody( that is probably some kind of record in itself!) last year and she got to help hatch our spring eggs. So far no sign of anyone else getting any ideas this spring and that is good as we have no hatching plans this year.

March 8th, 2 eggs from 3 chickens, just like usual.
Low 27; high is forecast to be 60, but I doubt it will make it past 55.
Today I moved the chicken tractor so the morning sun shines in. Hope that flips the switch for the 3rd chicken's egg production. She's been offline since December. I'll still use the light on the timer for cloudy days until the days are longer. My pullets will be official "hens" in one month.
