So while moving the tractor this morning all of my girls moved but Lavender and now I think she has injured her leg...I've separated her from the rest of the hens (she's actually inside because its so cold and I thought moving her in might make her feel better), given her food and water. she will only stand on one leg but I looked at her and she didn't have any swelling or redness but she didn't like that i wanted to touch it. maybe something minor??

If you have the means to keep her very confined for a period of time, it will allow the best option for conservative healing. I wouldn't worry about a severe injury unless she is still refusing to at least limp on it after 4 to 6 days.

thank you so much! she's already starting to do much better! this is my first go at having hens and i'm afraid i'll kill them lol hopefully she'll be back out by the weekend! just in time for the next snow to blow through :/

They blow me away how well they heal. I'd go ahead and get a small chicken 1st aid kit handy (electrolytes, antibiotic cream without painkiller, Blu Kote, that anti-fly paste, Penicillin G, 1cc syringes, and Chlorhexidine soap and rinse.) Having it ready means you'll probably never need it.
