I think it's running low. It says 99.5, but my eggs hatched 2-3 days late and only less than 1/2 hatched:( and my other thermometer says 97.5. Are these incubator thermostats usually off like this? How dono adjust it manually? My 16 month old spilled wAter on the manual it came with eekkk

Ya it's reading that its set at 100 and keeping it at 99.sonething. But it's not. So I upped it to 103 and its still reading the same on my other thermometers.

My Genesis also seems to be running lower than what it says because my hatches are starting on day 22 and finishing by day 24. I plan on calibrating it with a couple thermometers (I just bought the Brinsea one, which I will calibrate with a human digital therm.)

I am getting ready to set some eggs tomorrow and have had the bator running for a week. I have 4 thermometers in it to calibrate. Three of those also have hygromters, so I can get a ballpark reading between them all.

It's hard not to obsess about every little temp fluctuation, but if most of my sensors agree, I try not to worry (much).

Mine seems to be running cool too. I plan to complain after this hatch I'm just starting. Hoping they'll replace it. Mine is reading 98 inside and it's set to 100.5...

Mine seemed fine last year, but is low compared to other thermometers this year. Currently have it set on 102 with other thermometers reading 98-99. It seems to have gotten off 3-4 degrees while sitting over the winter

I to have a 1588 incubator I purchased this winter, and just had a bad experience with it. I thought it was probably me but after reading the posts I am beginning to wonder. I set 40 eggs for a preschool project (4 year olds) and only had 19 hatch. The display seemed to work as stated in previous post, temp set 100 degrees, maintained 99.5 to 99.7 every time I checked, and humidity around 50 most time. Set the incubator in a back room where the temp. remained around 62-65 degrees. I did have to take the incubator back to school on day 20, (10 min. drive) Those that hatched seem to be doing fine, but several that didn't seemed to be fully developed when I checked later at 24 days but were dead in the shell. One actually hatched on day 20. When I candled found 8 bad. I thought I had worried it to much but know I wonder. Also I thought things would happen in a 8-12 hour time period as everything was controlled. I really like the concept of the 1588 and the large viewing window for school projects. But now I wonder!!
