Hi.. I got my first duck a week ago. She / he is just a week old. Loving him or her to death.. I'm calling " Erki " a she . She is following me around all the time already.. I'm loving it.. this is what I've wanted for the past 25 yrs..

I'd like to know from everyone's experience on here if she is actually a call duck and a pure call duck.. also .. can anyone tell me what color she might turn out to be when she's grown ?

Ok.. thank you.. but could you please tell me what you mean by a white or a silver ? Do you mean color of a call duck or a different breed of duck all together ? Could you please post me pictures of what Erki might be and what she will look like ?

Thank you

Omg.. I had read your reply wrong.. I thought you had told me it wasn't a call duck.. wow.. I'm relieved now.. I wanted a call duck so badly. So you think he / she will be either white or silver ? Nice !

Does anyone know what the smallest duck you can get is ? Is it the call duck ? Or is there a duck that is smaller ?

Thank you

Calls are pretty small, the Hottentot Teal duck is another one. One of the smallest of the waterfowl. They're from Africa and they weigh 8 or 9 ounces full grown. I don't know how hard they are to get, some people breed them in the states..here is a picture

Adorable! i am just learning about call colours myself, i just got a pair yesterday. I would suggest you get it off the slippery paper though, not good for the wee legs.

I'd also take a peek through the care of raising ducklings, despite the wee size i understand you raise them as any other duck but i do appreciate the size making it feel like they require different, i am used to Muscovy which are giants compared to these lol

These are my little call duck babies that hatched out this weekend. I adore call ducks I raised them about 18 yrs ago and I am so excited to be able to have them again. 10 more days and my East Indie babies should hatch,

This was my first time hatching babies and what a neat, fun but highly nerve wracking experience. Cant wait to do it again.

Your baby is adorable.

Thanks.. We are just loving him or her... I am kind of hoping it turns out to be a very light brown or all white.. wish I knew ...

Can someone see if they can tell what color my call duckling will be ? She or he is 3 weeks old now and it looks like white feathers starting on the back ?? Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
