Just wanted to share a few pictures of my Guinea Fowl here in Australia. Birds were bred by Bemba, a member on this forum. The idea is to get two lines going, heavy pied birds and then Red eye Cinnamon Pieds.
These keets have grown out a fair bit now, the general pattern remains, but as they feather up they do tend to lose some of the white areas as the darker feathers cover them from the outside.
I'd love to see more pictures as they go along. Do you have pictures of them as younger keets than what's posted? I'm curious what they looked like as wee keets.
Awww - how CUTE! I'm envious mattperth! I'm really missing hatching. Long story, but my hatching schedule got all screwed up by going out of town for a week. I have ONE lonely keet from the last batch I was going to let the hen hatch herself. She failed. I had to take the eggs and incubate them, and I now have a staggered hatch with zero idea of when they're supposed to hatch. Sigh.
BUT I've collected 40 eggs over the past 10 days, and am about to set eggs again! Woohoo! I'mbackI'mbackI'mback. I have three chocolates, one Buff hen and a Buff Dundotte male. I expect some beautiful keets this summer - - finally.
Those pieds with mostly white wings are just beautiful. I'm not a huge fan of pieds, but those could sway my opinion!! Congrats.
