BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that's somewhat reassuring! Currently he's more friendly than not, plus I have a Leghorn who's veeery possesive of me -_- she climes right out onto me and pecks anyone who thinks to join her <:/ our last rooster (the evil one was a black polish, Ironically he originally had a brother who was sweet as a puppy! Sadly a coyote snatched him at 9 months old:(

Alright. So I have a question about bantam cochin roos...How nice are they? And how loud are they? We live out of town and just restocked with a new set of chicks (though they're more pullets now) and one is a roo.we have had many a roo, silkies, orpingtons, polish, but our last one was sooo aggressive that he kinda made us question keeping anymore Roos in our flock:( currently he's just loud, not overly skittish or overly friendly. What are the chances I can socialize him into being more friendly or at least uncaring of people? Id hate to have to get rid of him

even if he isn't very friendly in the end
When I got my straight run from Murray McMurray last year I ended up with 6 roosters (all cochins) Once they were feathered out I sold 2 right away and attempted to sell 2 more. Well before I was able to sell them 3 of the 4 were a little floggy. I mean they are bantams so what are they gonna do, ya know? I got sick of it and sold all the remaining but 1. I kept the only rooster that wasn't a floggy mess. He is a partridge cochin and although he isn't a puppy dog that comes running to me every time I come out to feed them he does respect my space and backs off as soon as I enter the run. He is a great protector of the flock and more importantly he doesn't try to fight me through the fence, in the run, or in the coop.

Been a while since I posted here.....a lot has changed in my bantam cochin flock, lol. I went from 1 calico pullet to 40+ this spring! Chicken math is a great thing! My DW doesn't think so though.
I have started, with some encouragement from my 8yr old daughter, a calico project. I have 7 pullets, 5 broody, and 1 rooster, also 31 chicks right now with 2 dozen more possible.
We started with a dozen eggs from the auction last March, hatched 4 ( 3 roo/1 pullet), kept pullet, daughter fell in love, pullet got picked on by LF EE, she went broody, I bought more bantam cochins, now we are up to date, lol.

So here are some pics, enjoy!

I also have a partrdge hen, and a rose combed hen ( bought in the middle of the night) not sure how the breeder made her but she's pretty nice.

Take a look at these 2 and I'm done with pics for this post

Congrats on all the newbies!!!!!

When I was younger and was raising and breeding my chickens, by far Cochin's are my favorite. I am currently looking for eggs or chicks. I'm in the Ventura county area. Would love to see if any local breeders are in the area or if anyone ships eggs.

Maybe you all can help me...
I have 6-10 week old pullets of different breeds ( ee, sussex, maran, delaware and a cochin).
My cochin is half the size of the rest of them. Is it possible I got a bantam on accident?
