Nutrena Feather Fixer

They don't list the ingredient because it is their trade secret. It they listed it anybody could use it.Like when a food product says "spices" they don't have to publicly give out their secret recipe. It isn't fair to spend your time ,money and research to then just give it away to your competitors.

Thought I'd toss my hat into this ring...this year was an especially hard molt with ALL the birds, young and old. I had 1 that was especially hard hit and lingering, lingering, lingering, in this never ending molt. Most have been going at it since August!

I can't be certain, as I didn't divide my flock in half, but after 2 weeks I AM seeing a noticeable change in my flock, and one that I don't think would have just happened no matter what I fed. They really are all looking glossier, fatter, and overall just better.

The bird that was looking especially bad with molt has totally feathered in and starting to look much plumper. (She had me worried).

I had already had them on a 20% layer, wormed them (twice), and put them on a booster, adding BOSS to the scratch...but no big perk up this time after those efforts. So I tried the Nutrena Feather Fixer thinking "what could I lose?"

It has me enough of a believer that I will try it again. I am leaving my flock on it this winter, and may keep them on it indefinitely as for me it is fairly reasonably priced compared to the 20% Albers layer I had my flock on (which was not doing anything for them).

No permanent recommendation, but I will keep using it and watching.

My 2 cents.

EDITED TO ADD: Oh, and I think egg production is picking up a bit too...too early to say for certain, but I got a new pullet egg today from pullets that are old enough but not in lay yet...thought I'd have to wait for the longer daylight hours in spring.

Be careful with feather fixer it’s high in calcium so not good for non laying breeds and roosters or chicks. It’s basically layer pellets
