TWEAK MY COOP~Tweaks on the Cheap

Can you post pics of some of those designs? Ours got ruined in the wind, and was bent I'm half. You can straighten it out but I wouldn't be able to be an actual trampoline

Here is also the link to the search I did for hoop coop. Some of the pics have designs, some are just pics but it's given me lots of ideas. Hope you find something you like. I think I may try to incorporate miss Bee's with some of these and see what I come up with. I can't seem to find the one that was showing the trampoline frame being used...go figure.

I also just found this one on here that was made out of a trampoline...pretty good instructions as well.

Report on coop tweak....egg count has increased by 50% since letting more air into the coop, the nest boxes and also with the installation of the fan directed on the nest boxes. I don't think it's coincidence, as it's just as hot and muggy here as always and feed/forage conditions have not changed a bit. I don't know if that means the hens were mostly laying in the woods because it was cooler and have no switched to the coop or what, but I'm pretty happy with the coop conditions and the increase in egg counts.

I am still in the process of finishing our fenced in run. It's pretty large. 6.5'h x 24' x 22'. The coop we bought on craigslist, it is open inside from floor up. I need to rearrange the roost bars, I don't like where they currently are and add more. I also would love feedback. Should I change the chicken wired to hardware cloth? I need to add latches on the nesting boxes. The coop is about 6't x 4.5 x 3.5. It's not that big. Still trying to figure out water in there and a pvc pipe for food dispensing.

The nesting boxes do have a lip to keep eggs and bedding from falling out.

I like this idea, but how does it work during cold winters? Are you in a warm climate?

I think I could maybe figure something out. Will have to think about it some more

Our coop, scavenged pretty much solely from a local merchants rubbish bin. Admitted....bought the mesh but not bad overall...pretty pleased!!

So I have recently completely dismantled my coop, which wasn't hard - it's sort of small.
I did it because I realized that the air flow wasn't working like I had hoped, so I moved the coop over about 6 feet.
Now the coop can get better air flow from and through the greenhouse in the Summer.
Winter here is not so much of a concern, although we do get snow and ice, but the summers are brutal.
So I made the roof only wire, excepting for a slanted piece right over and protecting the roosts and the nesting buckets.
Now the air can flow right through the greenhouse and carry the hot air up and out of the coop.
The thermometer in the coop showed 105* before I moved it and now it reads down to mid 90s.
The girls are happier and that's good.
