5/2014 Phoenix Arizona Passed New Chicken Keeping Ordinance

I'm glad that they allow chickens, but they make chickens sound like dirty, stinky and loud animals.
I think chickens are very clean, sweet and quiet birds.

I enjoy taking care of my hens and keeping their area clean and tidy. I suppose there are those who ruin it for everyone by not keeping up on the chores. I know they can be stinky, but I also know that with simple housekeeping, neighboring residents wouldn't even know if chickens were living right on the other side of their fence.

We Live in Glendale, AZ. We thought backyard chicken is allowed in Glendale since most municipalities in Phoenix allow backyard chicken. Last week, a city inspector came and informed us, we must remove our backyard chickens because our house is in a residential area. We have five hens almost one year old. They are very healthy and happy and laying good eggs. We really like them and treat them as our pets. If you see them, I can assure you will love them. If anyone is interested in having them in your family, please contact me at [email protected]. Thank you very much.

Unfortunately this state bill failed to pass in the house, http://legiscan.com/AZ/rollcall/SB1151/id/356508
