I was told from the breeder that I was purchasing three female and two male welsh harlequin ducklings. They are a week old and one of them looks different than the others. This made me wonder if I really had 4 of one sex and one of the other. What do you
think? All of them except the one that looks different look like the one in the upper right corner. The one that looks different is in the bottom left corner. Any information is very much appreciated.

I'm in same pond. 4 with 3 looking similar and 1 different. So no way to tell?

i have been wanting some of that breed for awhile. i have read this "Interestingly, they can be sexed after hatching with 90% accuracy by their bill color. Darker bills mean a male and lighter bills ending in a dark spot are normally females" in their description on all the hatchery sites. so if in that case i see at least one girl in the top picture but there is a few i cant see the bill of....

this is only true for the first few days of life, and only 90%, and these don't look like the breeder is breeding for quality necessarily to the breed guidelines. If that's the case, the sex linking at hatch trait is easily lost.

These ducklings are too old to be able to tell by Bill or feet color.

Once they start quacking, you'll be able to tell who is who.
