I'm sitting here watching "All American Cowgirl Chicks" on RFD-TV. This show covers cowgirls, including trick riding, the flag parade, and so on and also shows various other rodeo events.

Today was a definite cognitive dissonance day - during the bull riding, the PA was playing "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple.

They're going to show parts of the Calgary Stampede, live. I want my husband to take me to the big rodeos in Reno and Pendleton. My idea of a vacation, inhaling dust and stepping in cow flops.

The best live animal entertainment in the US is the Bishop Mule Days. Nothing sillier than mules putting their own cast on traditional horse events like show jumping - and donkey barrel racing since donkeys refuse to run.
