hope i didnt mess up

Also, you might try returning the bag of scratch to the feed store. Tell them you bought it by mistake. Perhaps they will give you a partial refund. Businesses build customer loyalty by doing things like this for their customers. Until you're able to get the real feed, try feeding them any extra protein you have around....scrambled eggs, ground beef, hotdogs, COOKED beans, etc. Or ask the meat dept at your grocery store if they have anything expired. If you do the latter, explain to them it is for your chickens, not for you...sign a waiver that you won't sue if the meat is bad, etc. Most of this meat is perfectly fine but stores are reluctant of handing it out for fear of being sued.

From experience (I get free day old produce/bread/dairy from a few stores every week) you will have a lot easier time getting them to give you day old dairy products over meat if you are looking for protein... Every store I have contacted is very protective of their expired meat, very few will offer it up and honestly there isn't much to be offered as the stores by me generally drop the price on the last day and it's gobbled up fast... On the other hand with a good approach many will give you day old produce or dairy products without much hassle...
