This was our first ever chick hatched (on Christmas no less), and consequently is my daughter's favorite. Besides that, it is pretty gorgeous. We have decided to keep it no matter what, but it would be helpful to know if it's a boy or a girl. Obviously, a girl would be preferable. It's 7.5 weeks right now, an easter egger. It's size and stance make me think roo, but the comb is smaller and yellow than I was expecting. There's no red on the wings our black on the chest, both of which I've read are signs of a rooster. I have not seen the parents.

I haven't mastered EE sexing yet, because quite frankly it's a little hard in my opinion lol. But for what it's worth I think the color pattern reminds me of my EE roo, but he had a large red comb at that age that was distinctively male. There's a really really good thread on here about EE's that I practically lived by when I was raising mine so I'd definately check it out! Sorry I couldn't help more, good luck!

I'm not sure. The legs would make me think cockerel, but its comb looks like that of a pullet (Easter Egger cockerels tend to have three-row, large red pea combs). If I had to guess, I would lean towards pullet, because of the comb and because there isn't any red coloration on the wings yet.

I agree. It's definitely an EE, and at this point, I think the evidence is stronger for a pullet than a cockerel. I hope for your sake that Wyandottes7 and I are right.)

Thanks to everyone who has weighed in at this point and thanks for the link. I will continue to welcome votes on pullet or roo. :) and I will update you ask when it becomes obvious!

Agreed.
