I think its how far you have the probe away from the heater that makes a difference i would try to stay a lil on the cooler side i was sweating the 101-102 # to much and i think i fried mine the couple that did make it where in a lil cooler spot i can tell thay all quit about the same time..

I have both the probe and the mercury thermometer on plastic ontop of the eggs. I'm so frustrated because the mercury thermometer is reading well over 100 degrees... I have turned the temp down three times today it's now set at 94 and reading well over 100 still. Will just wait until candling day which is 4 more days. But, I am so worried this won't work I ordered some chicks. What's the worst thing to happen I will just have a bunch of different kinds of chicks, a couple extra geese and a couple extra ducks. :)

Well over 100, how high?

700

@AmyLynn2374 : I just checked the air cells, and they seem good to me for day 16. Of course, hatch day is getting closer and I just want a second opinion to be sure. Do they look good to you?

They don't look too bad, I would expect in the next couple days before lockdown they increase a good bit more. It appears to me that the days between 14-18 is when they make their biggest loss.
Good luck!! I'm only on day 10 starting this afternoon.

I'll probably be in the nut house before I hit lockdown...lol

I officially am going to go bananas!! I am using my Hovabator for Incubating and the 9300 for hatching.

I can't get the LG to get above 60 for humidity and I put the eggs in on the 6th.. making today 17. They are Serama eggs and I need this humidity to go up!!

I have added water to ALL channels and added sponges! I only used a TAD of water when running it prior to adding eggs and it was steady at 40... so you would think that all this extra water would really get things going!

Both plugs are IN because I I take one out... then the humidity drops.

The programmed temp is 97 degrees and the internal temp on two of my thermometers are reading 101!

This thing is making me crazy!!

I say pull the plugs Condensation says your humidity is high. After this hatch I'd check your hygromter just to see.

I just ordered and received a Brinsea Spot Check thermometer and it appears to be perfect! Now to find a way to elevate it to top-of-the-egg level, without laying it on the eggs (instructions say not to let it touch the eggs) Anyone had any luck with any supports of any kind? I'm thinking of looking for a plastic ball or something at the dollar store that will fit in the turner, and maybe I can cut a slot in it to hold the probe at the right height.

This thread to promote the LG is running off the rails...
I think you would be happier with a Hovabator, but for just a little more you could get the Brinsea 20 Eco;)

I didn't create this thread to "promote the LG", I did it to test which model works best for me. Because I have both units but I don't know which one I will primarily use. I've been able to get great hatches off of the 9200, and expect the same from the 9300. Just because you had a bad experience, that does not make these units terrible. By all means, get a brinsea; you might need that kidney later on though. ;)

Maybe you could attach it to a stress ball? That should fit in your turner, good luck!
