Beautiful Blue Slate you had sorry you lost her but sounds like she had her days if she was 11 years old. I'm sure she was special to you being such a pretty girl and being with you so long. Like all say on that thread turkeys are the best bird to raise in my opinion also
All your birds are so pretty! I love the light orange ones the most, such a nice color. Those bearded hens rock too. I only have one, but I'm personally hoping one of these girls develops one too. Bearded hens are great.

Fortunately I have her spitting image including the beard. This one is either her daughter or granddaughter.
To bad you are so far away I have a few Jakes and hens of that variety from this years hatch I would give to you I know you have commented on them in the past. And they breed true as they have 2 red genes
Have been select breeding them for a few years now to get them that deep solid red look. My first ones and still some now are a lot lighter in color.
