A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Like you said @yesterDAYNE I like the unique birds also and always loved my bearded hens. I guess that's y I have kept so many of them.
All your birds are so pretty! I love the light orange ones the most, such a nice color. Those bearded hens rock too. I only have one, but I'm personally hoping one of these girls develops one too. Bearded hens are great.

Yes seen your pretty bearded girl in https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/lets-see-your-bearded-turkey-hens.1325640/ that R2elk just listed for me to check out. Yes I think they are all special as is your Red Bronze. You still have her? Has her beard grown longer in last year?

Beautiful Blue Slate you had sorry you lost her but sounds like she had her days if she was 11 years old. I'm sure she was special to you being such a pretty girl and being with you so long. Like all say on that tread turkeys are the best bird to raise in my opinion also
Fortunately I have her spitting image including the beard. This one is either her daughter or granddaughter.

Have been select breeding them for a few years now to get them that deep solid red look. My first ones and still some now are a lot lighter in color.

You can see 3 in this pic from this years jakes. 1 very light with the black tips in the middle of the 3. 1 to the right that is very deep and darker red . He will be a new breeder tom next year. Will breed him with a few of my deep dark looking hens. And then I should have them were I want them.
