I paid so much for shipped eggs last year, that I was not smart enough to hatch. it was staggering when I added it all up. along with the cost of building 3 new coops 2 bad incubators from TSC I'm so deep in the whole its going to take a while to get out. I've been setting since mid march ,anyhow I did it again I brought 20 Amerauca  eggs that are supposed to hatch tomorrow. I came home early today and found 2 already hatched and 4 more piped. you see the thing is I only set on Saturday so I'll be home for the hatch. I really wish these chickens would get with the program .

Heehee... If you find a way to teach them to read, maybe we can write backwards on the shell "Pip here X" and "hatch on Saturday". You are a major victim of chicken math. Gotta go in the hole way deep before digging out! Good luck!
 
digging is what I do along with many other things .my favorite thing to are the ones that pay me to bring building materials home . digging out has gotten easier with a livestock auction barn that deals with mostly goats chickens & just about anything else. I 'll try just about to improve my hatch .next Wednesday I'll wright all that on the eggs and see if it helps. today three hatched one zipping. it should be out by now .My wife won't let me hatch on my dresser this year so I have to go out to feed shed to find out. thanks for the luck.
 
Hi. I'm hatching out my first batch of eggs as well. They're Cream Legbars. However, upon candling on day 8 nothing! I had a problem with the post office 1) loosing my packaging and 2) eggs in the shipment were broken. Not to mention they felt as if they'd been in the fridge!!! $70 gone for a dzn eggs!! I also raise the Ameracauna/Auracana. Beautiful blue/green eggs!! Love the disposition of my rooster! He's the best! Big beautiful roo!

He's the sweetest bird and my best friend! Lol. Getting my Cream Legbar eggs will be replaced since shipment was insured! However, 3 of my Ameracauna/Auracana eggs look like a good hatch!!

I know the feeling with the shipped eggs. Sorry to hear that. I'm glad your getting something from ins. That is a beautiful rooster.

He looks an awful lot like my ee roo, only mine is fat and special needs. Even the white fluff feathers at the butt. He is beautiful!
 
Wow they look like the one that I had, I hatched from shipped eggs last year .I waited all winter to let him get grown . didn't get a chance to put him with my hens he took sick and within 48 hrs. was gone .I can't find a breeding age Rooster like him anywhere. I did make new friends at the livestock sale yesterday and have a lead on a white one . I'll know next weekend. sorry about your hatch going bad maybe the next shipment will get there safe. sideWing I hope your chicks your doing well .
