Game chicken breed?

A lot of yard chickens around here are some type of game chicken. These came to us as one day old little babies Easter weekend. A friend came home from work the night before and his dog had killed the mother. These 5 are the survivors. They must have been brand new, it took them almost 2 days to start eating. He had no interest in raising the babies and brought them to us. Out of the 5 there are two that are more black and three that are more brown. Could that be a sex link gene? The difference was apparent even on the first day. Any idea what breed these are?

I can try. It's hard to get close to them. They don't like people at all. I'll try if there is enough light this afternoon when we get home. I was using my phone though. I'll bust out the digital camera and get some better pictures.

I asked him today because he had just told us they were game chickens. He says they are greys. I looked at the adults and the males are black and white and the females are brown. Hopefully we got three females and only two males that will need to be rehomed or become chicken soup.

Their colors did work out to be sex linked. The brown are hens and the grey ones are roosters. We have 2 left of the 5. One disappeared without a trace, one I rescued from the mouth of the neighbors puppy and it died on the short walk home (heart attack I'm thinking as I couldn't see any wounds) and the other we found in the yard that looked to have been gotten by a small hawk and we had to put her down.

So we have a male and female. Still not sure on breed, they must be a mix as my dad says for what they appear to be they should have yellow legs but they have white legs. I'm considering breeding some of these next year as I just think the red and blue on the rooster is beautiful. They have also been a lot more slow growing than our fat egg laying girls. They also are still not a part of the flock and they just stick together away from the big hens.
