Black pullets?

Thanks for posting the better pics. I can see details in them that I couldn't see in the first pics. They all look like mixed breeds to me (possible EEs). It will be interesting to see what color of eggs they lay.

SUPER neat birds there. Very curious indeed. The leg color is not what I would expect for EE but everything else is.
I hope you get some really unusual color of eggs out of them. I like them.
( I like black chickens though so

Update! We have a roo... "dolly", the one with the copper, started crowing this morning. About a dozen crows in 10 minutes! Quite a boisterous boy...

Looks like we'll be having chicken for dinner one night soon, seeing as how we can't have roosters here.

Well that is a bummer. I guess Dolly was Danny in disguise. I know what a let down it can be since I cannot have roosters where I am either and ended up with 2.

Hi , not sure I'm in the correct area , I'm new here ! I have a black pullet chick 6 -7 weeks old I estimate . All the others are growing in feathers , but "Ducky" is not , shes almost naked! What do I do ? Do I separate her ??

This is an old thread so you may want to start a new thread so more people will see your post. If you click on the title of the forum for example "What breed or gender is this?" then on the blue bar on the left that says "start a new thread" you can start a fresh thread.

If you have a chick that is that age and not growing feathers you may want to post in the emergencies forum or the raising baby chicks as well. Many people will ask for a pic so they can try to assess what is causing the issue.

I am not sure at all why a chick that age would be naked. I would not separate her unless she is being picked on or is obviously ill.

Best wishes on your little naked chick.
