If he were mine and I thought he had an infection that could be treated with Tylan 50 I would give 1.2ml orally twice a day. I know it seems like a lot, but all my reference material says that's about what it should be. If no improvement is seen in 48-72 hours no reason to continue.

Can you take him to a vet?

Just remember that Tylan 50 doesn't treat that many types of bacteria.

ok, so I have 1 ml syringes, I will fill it up once and then the second time only fill it to the 20 mark right?  So one whole syringe full and then 20 of the syringe....  two times a day, I just want to get this right.  I have been way underdosing him without realizing it.  I have been giving him a little over 1/4 mil just once in the morning.... I have done this for 3 days.... do I start the higher dose tomorrow and keep dosing him for 5 days if he shows improvement?  Stop after 3 days if no improvement?

The Elanco website say that with the powder they should get 50 mg per pound per day. Two pounds 6 ounces = 2.3625 pounds, so the math is:

2.3625 x 50 / 50 = 2.3625 ml per day. Divide by two and it's 1.18125 ml twice a day. Round up to 1.2ml. :D

CRD indications:

  • Administer medicated drinking water for three days; however, medicated water may be administered for one to five days depending upon severity of infection. Treated chickens must consume enough medicated water to provide 50 mg per pound of body weight per day. Only medicated water should be available to the birds.

Turkeys:

  • Administer medicated drinking water for three days; however, medicated water may be administered for two to five days depending upon severity of infection. Treated turkeys must consume enough medicated water to provide 60 mg per pound of body weight per day. Only medicated water should be available to the birds.

Of course this is not powder, but it's what I would do. Many people have used less successfully, but less isn't working for him, so trying more might be a good idea.

Cute, I love your disclaimer  :)  Thank you for your help.  I trust what you would do.
