Thank you ol for the support!

Those are cute chicks!

I'd suggest waiting until they are fully feathered, around a month, before trying to introduce them together. Otherwise they could catch a chill, become trampled, get pecked at (they are very delicate at this age), or not get enough food.

Hope it all works out for you! Best of luck!

Ah, good ol' chicken math! Those chicks are adorable!!!

Agreed- wait till they're older and fully feathered. The easiest and least bloody way to introduce them is to put the newer chicks in an enclosure within the coop that both the older and newer chicks can see each other, but not touch each other. Have them in that enclosure for a few days and then you can let them out and see how it goes.

My wife read your replies and agreed we could use a couple more. We got barred rocks. The only thing is we put them in the brooder with four four week old chicks and the red stats started pecking at them and making their beaks bleed. I put the older chicks alone in the new coop and the younger plymoth rocks in the brooder. Any tips on incorporating them together?

Were these chicks sold to you as Barred Plymouth Rocks? Only asking as the chicks in this photo are decidedly not barred rock chicks - cute, but not BPR.
Generally, it is best to have no more than 1-2 weeks difference in age in chicks that are in the same brooder - not only is the potential for bullying and injury a problem, but so is maintaining an environment suitable for both age groups. Once the younger chicks are fully feathered (5-6 weeks) you can start the integration process out in the coop - there is lots of information available here on BYC regarding different methods that can be used to integrate them.

So the shop also sold Cuckoo marans. After doing a Google search I think they may have been mis labeled. :-(

Marans are awesome birds! You could end up with a really cool color.

I hear mislabeling in feed stores is pretty common.
