Hey there! Quick question about breeding my buns... I have an albino mixed breed meat rabbit type male and a black and white rex female. I just put them together for about two hours. What do you think the babies could turn out to be? Is the albino gonna be dominant? Will the soft Rex fur come...
I'd like to save my doe's nest-lining fur after a litter is done with it, so I can provide extra during cold weather.
However, I have concerns about the usual stuff: bacteria, fungus, mold, mites. Any potential nastiness.
So, does anyone know a good way to sanitize loose rabbit fur?
I finally got my buns on Friday! They are pedigreed American Chinchillas, an endangered heritage breed. Here are some pics of the cuties.
Buck: He was born 6/25/2020, and his parents weighed 9lb10oz and 9lb13oz.
This is the Doe: She was born in April 2020 and her parents weighed 10lb12oz and...
Wondering if anyone can shed any light on this situation?
I mixed my 1 male rabbit with my 4 female rabbits for an afternoon, and on day 26 after mating (is that not a bit early for rabbits also??) 2 of the females gave birth in the early morning. All babies seemed ok.
We have done the same...
I went to get a couple of bunnies yesterday and came home with 5!!! 5 Rex rabbits! Each one a different colour.

1 blue otter
1 chocolate
1 lilac
My absolute favorite is the female lilac, she loves to cuddle and constantly comes over to me. Just thought I'd share...
Hello,
My 1 and a half year old mini Rex for is 30 days into her gestation period and I know she is supposed to be kindling anytime soon. She has built a nest however there is no fur pulling yet. And she hasn't kindled obviously. I'm starting to get impatient and worried that maybe it is a false...
Hello all,
I have a 3 year old Dwarf Hotot doe that I purchased last year. She had had several healthy litters with them. Since I have owned her, she has had one false pregnancy and one failed pregnancy. She had 3 DOA kits total, all days apart she reabsorbed and mummified one kit that she later...
Hey there! I am starting out my Mini Rex breeding program, and I am looking for a little guidance. I have been breeding Holland's for quite some time, but I have decided to be done with them after my best one dying, my other best one being too old to show/breed, lots of failed litters, etc.. I...

Or, how CC learned she needs to bunny-proof the yard before walks. My new Flemish baby has more personality than the rest of my rabbits rolled into one but also more energy for mischief!

I've been planning on getting started on raising meat rabbits for a few months now, and have finally started to dig my nose into it. But I've never raised rabbits before and would love a little bit of advice.
I've read through different sites that a 24"x 24"x 30" would work well enough for a...
WE have been bredding rabbit for a short while now but we are having a problem with one momma rabbit. She was pregnant when we got her and she did fine with that litter had 10 and all but 1 survived. The problem is the last litter she had 10 and everytime we turned around we were finding her...
Hi guys, I want to thank you in advance. I bought a fawn female rabbit, the mother was a New Zealand broken colors, the father was a chocolate mini rex, but on the larger side, I really wanted regular standard Rex. I'm hoping the one I got woke up longer and get her mother's genetics, I use to...
So.. I have raised first time moms before. This time it's a Mini Rex. I am used to very large rabbits. What are you supposed to do. She is about triple her size and 22 days in. Any thing I need to know?
Hello all,
I am in search of some advice. I would LOVE to start breeding holland lop bunnies. But I am torn if it would be a bad thing to do. Let me start out by saying that I would start VERY small (one to two does and a buck) and invest in quality stock. A friend of mine will be breeding her...
