3 of my chickens are laying the others are not this is there first time laying. why are the others not is it bc there not gettting mated yet?

Yes, you just don’t need one to get eggs. I live in the suburbs so I’m not allowed to have a rooster, I had to rehome the handsome guy in my profile pic (black chicken), and now just have the 3 girls left.

All of your pullets hit POL (point of lay) right in the middle of shortened daylight hours. This affected some to not lay til the days start getting longer. The other 3 it didn't affect so they started laying but don't be shocked if they stop randomly. It's always hit or miss if you get eggs during these shorter days but once the days start gradually get longer you'll start getting eggs.

They all start laying at different times. I have 5. The first one started laying at 20 weeks. The last one started TODAY and 34 weeks. The others picked up somewhere in between there, but we were 3 layers for a long time. Then 4 for a month and now finally 5.

thats what i thought but i was not sure anymore cause only a few of them were laying and most of the ones that were laying were getting mated but thanks
