I was asked to move in with my son about 3 months ago, unable at the time I was caring for my grandchildren full-time living with me although, planning for over year to move in and take care of my son, not really knowing that I would be taking care of his farm and getting my education from Google on how to do what!Did I post this in the wrong spot or just our selling off the old coop and birds...LOL.
that is great. I might just do something similar. An old closet door that kept falling out of it's track, a couple of free pallets, a half gallon of exterior white paint that was in the garage from the previous owners, and some hardware cloth we already had. I just had to buy some hardware and the wheels. Total cost for the brooder (17.5 sq ft) was less than $50.
Eggs do not start spontaneously developing. They must be kept at a near constant 100* for several days before you can even notice development. Until incubation occurs, fertile eggs are pretty much the same as infertile eggs.I can't help with much of that but every kittle bit helps. If you keep the rooster away from your laying hens, you can store eggs at room temperature for a month. Fertilized eggs would possibly start developing so you wouldn't want a customer getting one of those. We are one of the few nations where eggs are refrigerated as a normal practice. Will look over the rest of the post to see if there is anything else I can lend to it. I have a friend who raises goats so maybe I can find something there. Sorry about your son. Thank him for his service for me. Which Bat was he with? I retired in 08.
the more I look at it the more I am headed that way. Did you post the build anywhere? I really don't think finding the majority of this as curb alert throw away on craiglist would be hard at all. I'm not quite finished with it yet. I've got a second door that will be going on top, for a second level. The chicks that are in it right now are going to be moved out to their grow-out coop this weekend. And then I can get started on the upper level.the more I look at it the more I am headed that way.
