And as for the broody: Better to not let her have chicks again. Some just don't get it and cause havoc.

If I can make a guess it looks like a prolapsed vent with shavings and feathers and stuff stuck to it.

I think people have success using haemorrhoid cream to keep the prolapse moist. I have also read people using coconut oil and witch hazel. Eventually it will go back in by itself but it’s hard for them to poop and the poop may accumulate and harden inside them and it can be hard for them to pass.

I’ve read that the best way to euthanise a chick is to gas them with ether. I read another thread advising you can just cut the head off with kitchen scissors.
