Hi everyone.

I have a 5 week old black copper Maran. S/he is bigger than the rest and has started getting wattles but comb is pretty pale.

Any guesses on the sex?

Hi, new here and new hen ma! I just received these two copper marans from a local feed store. I’m 100% sure one is a roo. Just curious if this one is a roo or pullet. I believe they are about 3-4 weeks possibly. What do you guys think?

Too early to tell for sure, but the comb looks small and pale, so that's a good sign for a pullet.

Too early to tell for sure, but they look exactly like my Black Copper Maran pullets!

The one with stripes/bars on the wings is not a BCM as marking are incorrect.. Should look more like the other one.

Maybe it's another variety.. IF it is a Marans.. always said with the S at the end even when discussing a single individual.. after the region in France from which they originate.
