Looking for an update on what everyone thinks of gender identification. I can’t have roosters where I live but would like to avoid re homing my chickens if possible.

3 started crowing but I’ve heard hens also do this? Maybe just me being hopeful.

There are a couple bantam breeds where the hens also crow, but it is pretty rare for standard breeds to have that happen.

If you can't have roosters where you are you may want to stick with getting sex-links or auto-sexing breeds like barred rock, bielefelder, or cream legbars, they would be less of a gamble.
