6 month old girl mallar duck

Yesterday my mallard duck started making a continuous clicking noise and getting real low to the ground. It lasts for about 30 Sec almost looks like a seizure or trance. She spreads her wings out then when I call her name she snaps out of it and off she goes. She's a rescue duck her mom left in our backyard. She hasn't layed an egg yet so we thought that's what was happening. Has anyone seen this with their ducks? Help! Thx

It sounds like she is ready to mate! Do you have other ducks? If not, she is lonely and you should add one or two. She is essentially begging for attention, the little sweetie.
