I don’t see a lot of talk about this cross or even Legbar x Isbar so I’m going to see if anyone has input or experience. Have you bred this cross before and what do your birds or eggs look like? I’m so curious to know the egg colours you end up with!

I have some variations of this blue egg layer (Ameraucana, CCL) x Silverudds Isbar and excited to see what I end up with! The Legbar x are autosexed which is fun too.

The top pic is CCL x Isbar and little chick is Ameraucana x Isbar.

A month on I'm curious about your crosses as they grow out, any observations you care to share?

Sure, I can take some updated pics today of the ameraucana cross.

Here is the Legbar x Isbar cross pullet who is getting beautiful lacing around her neck (the pic doesn’t do her justice). And the Legbar x Isbar cockerel who had a spot on his head at hatch, so the cross is autosexing!

She is really pretty, the lacing is very nice! And the cockerel is quite suave looking :)

Thanks, going to keep him for sure!

Here are a few of the Ameraucana x Isbar at 4 weeks old.

The splash chick is a blue Isbar over splash ameraucana hen. I think this one is a roo unfortunately. All the splash chicks I’ve hatched so far end up being boys:(

The blue chick is blue Isbar over blue ameraucana and hoping for a pullet!

The black chick is the one in my original post and blue Isbar roo over blue ameraucana hen. Also thinking it’s a pullet.

Pretty babies :) Blue does look pullet, black's comb looks more male to me but I happen to be terrible at pea-combed juvenile sexing, so pay no attention to me LOL. Splash is going to be really pretty, I think.

You were right, the black and splash were cockerels and blue the only pullet!

the Isbar x legbar (Ice cream bar) Has started laying a sweet blue egg. Definitely a nicer blue than the chick hatched from so I’m happy with that!

The Isbar x ameraucana is only 3 months so will try to update when it lays as only the blue one ended up being a pullet
