I'm looking for info on a Sear, Roebuck and Co. Model 595.92252 brooder. It's hexagonal metal. Heating element and light socket works but I can figure out how is goes together and an internet search hasn't helped. I have 25 chicks arriving in 3 days. Any help would be much appreciated!

I will in the morning. I'm in my pj's now and we are to get some thunderstorms later. Thanks for the suggestion. If all else fails I do have a heat lamp but my chicks will be in an unheated garage and I decided to haul this old brooder out thinking the hood would help keep the heat in the box better.

I understand your concerns.

I am brooding chicks in my shop (unheated) and had to put a piece of 2" thick insulation board over them when temps dropped to single digits here.
My brooder is about 30" wide and 6' long. The water is on the opposite end from the heat lamp and actually froze once in there. The chicks were all fine but it caused me some anxiety.
