anyone else notice thier chickens goin in the coop later ?

im going to get an automatic chicken door opener and closer " some day " in the mean time i go out and open it in the morning and close it in the evening. so, anyway i noticed that in the summertime when the sun goes down the chickens go in the cooop like clock work. but now that the days are getting shorter when the sun goes down they are still out there hanging out like they don't even notice the sun went down.

Yeah I noticed it. In the summer the days are longer and I guess they are more tired so want to go to bed. In the winter with the shorter days it's like, man do we have to go to bed.

Lol - our birds always go in at night. The only ones to stay outside are our 3 ducks.

Their house is never locked up and so they can go out or go in any time they want to. I guess they are absolute free frange hehehe
