Here are two of our brand new Silkie chicks we have given to our very broody Booted Bantam (broody for 10 weeks and had no intention of giving up until something started peeping)! They are helping to fill a void left behind by a gorgeous little pullet we lost at the age of 20 weeks. Her sisters are all fine but for some reason, one day she couldn't get up on her feet (though she could still kick her little feet like crazy). I tried for a week to save her but sadly lost the battle. She was so sweet and friendly so these cute little fuzzles are making us smile again.


This is Dora (the Explorer) who was named by our son. She certainly lives up to her name!



And here is Nugget who was named by our daughter. (Hope it's ok that Mummy chicken is in the background).
