The chicks, ducklings, and goose got to go outside today. It was warm enough in the afternoon. With temps getting lower I wasn't Square, they be able to get outside this fall. But everybody seems to be having a lot of fun. The ducklings have been swimming. The goose doesn't seem to want to swim. I don't know if that's normal or not, but she seems happy enough. There's 7 chicks total 3 ducklings and one goose. I left the keets inside because I'm not sure if I trust them not to run off.

Everyone will be moving into their heated coop tomorrow, while they meet my lone chicken Elvira, who was injured and pushed out of the adult flock a few months ago. They'll be separated at first of course.
Here are some pictures, I'll try to post some video soon.

That's so darned cute! :love Looks like fun too. Awesome pictures with them and your dog!

Hey Nellie Rose, if you need something to put those keets in, an idea we got for getting chicks outside was one of those pet pens with solid sides and a floor you can unzip. It folds up when you're done. You might find one or something on that line you could use Marketplace for cheap. Ours, I'm guessing, is 6 feet across. It's fun to see them running around in that. We do it for their first few weeks of life as weather permits.

Thanks 🥰 yeah, my dog does really good with my birds now, I've been working with him and them for almost 3 years and I completely trust him alone with them, and I know he would protect them if he thought something meant them harm. My little dog on the other hand... he's a work in progress. He's really good with the chicks, probably because they've lived in our room for 3 weeks now, and he is used to me reprimanding him for going near then, but he will chase the adult birds.

That's a great idea! I'll keep it in mind next time. They are moving into the enclosed coop and run tomorrow afternoon, so they'll be locked in the run for a few months before being allowed out, and hopefully they learn where home is 🤞 its crazy, the keets are almost completely feathered, while the chicks (who are older) just have their wings.
