I have an order in for some of McMurray's bantam Ameraucana. Are theirs true purebreds? The description for the bantam Ameraucana leads me to believe they are pure, while their standard Ameraucanas look like Easter eggers. If they're not, where can I get true bantam Ameraucanas?

They are not true ameraucanas. The biggest rip off is that they don’t sell by color,
“We maintain this line to showcase the multitude of color ranges that one breed of poultry can possess”
True ameraucanas are sold by color variety, for example:
wheaten, buff, lavender, black. If a line Is sold under the name of a specific color variety, and bred to standard, they are true ameraucanas.

This is a good source for information. There is a directory on their page for sellers of true ameraucanas, bantams included.

I recently purchased bantam ameraucana hatching eggs from this person:
http://www.gypsyhen.com/
she has Bantam ameraucanas in lavender, silver, and BBS wheaten varieties.
In The end, you’ll have to find a breeder who can ship eggs or chicks, or who is close enough for you to pick up eggs or chicks.

Thank you for this info! I contacted Gyspy Hen and will be picking up some self-blue bantam eggs from her when I have a broody to hatch them. They are in NE OK, within driving distance.

This is really helpful! I did some research since I own ameraucanas myself, and my first batch of ameraucanas seem to match up will all the recognized colors. Although, my second batch (from tsc, no way) all had different colors. Is it possible they are not true ameraucanas? I wouldn’t be surprised if tsc would mislabel random EE’s. Here are some photos: (sorry they are not the best)
