I own 67 cochins and of all the colors, I dont own a pure black one...

I did at one time have a few, then the hawks did.

Hi,
I am new to chickens..... totally... I have decided that Bantam Cochins are the chicken for me... LOVE them... I am planning on spring... I am researching and learning everything I can.... Looking for coops as well... Can anyone tell me how high up they can climb on a ladder or the ramp actually?? I plan on having 4-6. I will take advice from one and all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome and yea I have seen mine climb ramps and whatnot but make sure the ramp isn't too steep and too Long mine prefer short shallow ramps. All I know is that you will hae to train them the first few times they use it.

I know this is small, but does my blue Cochin look like a roo or pullet? She is protective of her sister and will run after her if I'm moving her around the yard.

I have a little bantam the lady I bought her from said she is a Cochin. She keeps setting like she is protecting eggs so I slipped 3 eggs under her 1 was one of hers and 2 from a different breed do y'all think she will set them to the hatch date?
