Okay, so one of these is for certain a black copper maran, the other is suspected. I hatched two for sure, but I also bought some live Dominant Coppers from my local store so I have a few chicks with mostly black feathers and feathered outer toes
Anywho, time will tell, but I’m curious if you all think I’ve got boys or girls on my hands here. The close up pictures are of the two chicks, you can see the combs quite well. They are more developed than all the other chicks I have, but not anything like the mystery cockerel that is 99.9% certain(mystery because he was supposed to be a RIR, but is clearly way too light)... and no wattles on the BCMs
They are also nowhere near the body size of my blonde boy. No difference whatsoever in their body size compared to the rest of the flock. You can see in the picture that seems to be a jumble of chicks, how much larger the golden boy is, AND how much more developed his cone is(one of these BCMs is actually in the front right of the photo)
All the chicks are 5-5.5 weeks old. I picked up chicks at the store the same day mine hatched so the store ones are only about 3 days older. Not enough to really be significant.
