African or Asian?

Depends on the ears.

OR a team of specialists to confirm that it was indeed an elephant and not just a hippo or even a housecoat, then with further testing, said team should ultimately deny the existence of the suspected elephant. This denial will be based largely on the lack of experience of the person reporting the elephant. Experience in what? Doesn't matter! If the elephant isn't natural to that area, all official reports should deny its existence. It is just NOT possible for regular folk to know what they're talking about. ONLY an extremely experienced PhD'd smarty-pants can verify what the animal really is.

Hope this doesn't offend.

Let me clarify, I'm the only one that knows what I'm talking about. And I'm right.

Seriously, I hope I haven't offended anyone. It's just that I know more. Than you.

I'll edit if this really offends.

Yup and the DNA matched that of the strain found in the Dakota's. This cat had been sighted/DNA mapped in Minnesota and Wisconsin and Ohio as well as in Glens Falls NY.

Wow.....that is a fair jaunt looking for an open home.

If only he had asked directions.

People see things in the woods that are not always what they think. I read an article in a local paper about 25 years ago where a woman shot an elk and when a guy approached her she got real defensive and sat on it with her rifle pointed at the guy and informed him that she had shot this animal and it was hers. The guy said "lady, all I want is my saddle".
