Bless Their Heart... And Other Southern Sayings

Guilty-I say "Bless your heart" all the time-not in a mean way, just habit.
What can I say, I'm from Texas.

I get picked on my friends from up north (well used to when we were in school - now they've all picked it up too *evil snicker*) but "Ya'll" and "yonder" was always got I was picked on for

"Where'd I put my keys?"

"Over yonder"

"Over where?"

"Over yonder"

"Where the devil is over yonder supposed to be?"

"Over yonder by the darn computer, can't you see me pointing too?"

I've heard you can pretty much replace any "bless their heart" with "what an idiot" and it still makes sense...lol

My mother always said, "What in the Sam Hill are you talking about?" I always wondered who Sam Hill was and the funny thing is, Hill was her maiden name, LOL, bless her heart.

My son couldn't quite get the hang of "yonder". I'd say, hey where are you? His answer: I'm in yonder.
