Lol, I finally got lucky and picked up 2 Blue copper Maran roos. They're now breeding with the hens!Maybe one day I'll get my hands on a blue copper maran. I can dream!!!
Personally, I loooove Easter Eggers, and the blue/copper coloration. I'd probably cross EEs with the BCM Roo to get a lovely variety of colors and types. EEs are very random with color genetics, hence all the fun possibilities.
If you want something more solid and predictable, I'd cross with Ameracauna.
This is all if you were to breed for an olive egger and only cared about looks.
Here we are constantly hatching barnyard mixed chicks, (from pure bred parents, other mixes and EEs) and all the unique colors and variety has been my obsession. You never know what to expect sometimes.
