BR or CM

When is the best age to tell if a chick is a BR or CM. I currently have four mystery chicks that i got from Ideal that are either one of those breeds. I know they arent domaniques because they dont have a rose comb. They chicks were hatched on 7/24.

The best way would be by beak and leg color. A Barred Plymouth Rock will have a yellow beak and yellow legs with dark wash while a Cuckoo Marans will have a dark colored beak and white legs.

If i posted a pictured would you be able to tell? Even if they are less than a week old? I keep going back and forth its to confusing.

It’s hard to tell if they’re Cuckoo Marans it Barred Plymouth Rocks at this age. Wait a couple of weeks and then post pictures again.
After consulting google it seems that Cuckoo Marans chicks should have white down on their stomachs and breast areas.

I think maybe theyre BR if i go by the CM having white on the chest. But ill wait and see as they get bigger i guess. Lol the waiting game is hard.

These are the chicks at a month and a half old...or close to it.
