Hello,I have a rescued male white Runner duck, also have a pair of Pekin ducks, a pair of Chinese geese and a male Muscovey, the male Pekin chases my Runner around alot, So I'm looking for a female Runner, My question is,will it be ok if I get a black or tan female Runner or do I need a white one?
Should I get more than one female Runner for him?
Thank you,
Brian

Welcome to the Duck Forum!

Thinking farther ahead (further ahead?), let's consider you have some big boys in that flock. You may want to be able to keep the small ducks, drake and ducks (girls) separated for their safety. It will depend on the ducks, really. Sometimes it works out, sometimes the littles need protection.

I would get three girls for the runner boy and go from there.

You may also need to get more girls for the Pekin. I agree with Amiga that you may have to separate the runners from the others. I am afraid that the female runners might get hurt with large males around.

WOW,Thanks for the info, So I guess i'm now in the hunt for another Pekin female,Do they come in other colors than white?? and a few girls for my runner, Hard to find runners around here.
Again, Thank you for the help,
