I've heard of breeding season for quail in overall that it's from March through to September.
Thing for me is that my adult quail only started mating in early October, and are still continuing to do so today. Even my 5 week old chicks are constantly crowing (once the other day, one of my chicks was crowing all night.) One male chick even tried to mate with another chick, even though it's not breeding season apparently.
Because it's summer here, I guess it'd make a little more sense to start mating, but I don't get the appropriate times for when breeding season is for quail down under.
Does anyone have an idea?
Also, anyone know when moult begins? I've only been keeping quail for 3 months but still curious as to when they lose their feathers.
Thanks in advance!
