I say cockerel as well. He's got patchy red coloring and looks pretty lanky. A pullet at this point should be nice and round, so to speak, and he's pretty tall and skinny.

Yes, his hackle feathers are what made me start questioning him. They aren’t as obvious as my silkie but the girls do not have this new growth that “Brandon” now has.It is a cockerel. You can see the beginnings of male specific feathering on his upper shoulder. Definitely a late bloomer but that happens sometimes.
