my two broody girls have combined their nests together. Stealing eggs and breaking, then eating them. Caught one of the girls a little bit ago while cleaning out their shed. Also found pieces of shell in the nests. Their nests were about 5 feet apart now they’re pretty much on top of each other! I have never heard of a goose eating their eggs. What do I do?

I'd imagine they aren't setting out to eat them, they are probably getting broken in the scuffle between the two of them and then eating it like instinct tells them to do to hide the scent from predators and keep the nest safe.

I'm not sure if you could separate them without breaking them, but do you think you could wait until they are taking their daily break, move one of the nests a couple feet over, put up a divider between the nests, and see if that does the trick?

Thank you so much!!! I got them separated!
