I am guessing roo as well. My BO girls are going on 16 weeks old now, and there combs are still very small, hardly any waddles to speak of, and pale pink in color.
I don't see any saddle or hackle feathers yet, so I wouldn't give up hope. I wouldn't call the comb and waddles red, just pink - my girls got pinker when they were hot, long before their combs and waddles really grew and turned red. I could be wrong, but don't give away your favorite bird just yet!
Ok. I will keep longer but just to be safe I am starting to look for people to take them if they end up being a roo because I have my chickens in the city
and there is no way to hide a roo or keep them from crowing. So I will keep my fingers crossed. Maybe I should put up a bunch of pictures of "sexy" roos in their room and put pink lace around the cage. That way they can get in touch with their feminine side ......................... or become a gay male roo.........
