I purchased this B.O. as a pullet but am curious if that's what it really is. I'm guessing it's about 8-9 weeks old now but not 100% sure. There's a pic from about 3 weeks ago and the rest are now

sorry to say, you've got two cockerels there. Orpingtons are slower to mature than Rocks, that's the difference in your birds. But those red wattles and red in the comb are solid male indicators.

sorry. If you lived closer I could get you some pullets, but that's too much of a road trip. Plus, I hear there's that frozen white stuff out your way. I avoid that at all costs

Looking like Roos to me as well. Here is a pic of my 6 week BR ( not so sure my is really a BR) for comparison. Mine has no where near the comb your baby is sporting!

Ok here are a few more photos. I looked at the calendar and I believe it's about 7-8 weeks. I'm thinking the Spurs are starting to show. The BR actually started crowing today.

First of all, it's MALE. Zero question about that. Second of all, NO, the spurs are not starting to show because both sexes have spur buds and the male spurs do not even really come in until they are 10 months to a year old. BUT, you have a cockerel, if you are correct on the age.

ETA: haha, I didn't realize this was YOU, lol! I already commented that it was a cockerel. Now, there's no question at all.

The best sexing photos are full body from the side, with bird standing normally, in daylight, but not glarey light. The last one is pretty telling.

Anyone else? I bought 3 pullets and I'm fearing I'm only going to have one. Here is the BR that was supposed to be a pullet. I'm pretty convinced it's a roo but not totally convinced on the BO yet.

Can I get a few more opinions? If this is leaning toward roo I need to pick up another couple chicks on Thursday, it's the last shipment for this season. If it's leaning toward hen I won't get any more.
