A little note regarding members who have passed away....

The idea of posthumous awards was submitted to the Staff, and after discussing it they have decided that we are not going to award current badges posthumously. The concensus is that people should be recognized while alive. We have a memorial thread already and as members pass away, they are added to that, their year of birth is searched out and changes are made to their title to reflect their passing with birth/death dates.

I have a remark/question,
Do the nomination awards ever become out of date?

No, the awards do not go out of date.

We may if warranted, remove one for excess infractions related to the spirit of the award.
Or if the awardee refuses it.

But it is rare that we will do either.

There may be cases where some awards may "expire" if a member is no longer active on the board, but that will depend on a variety of factors including the specific award (for example, the year anniversary awards will never "expire").
