Our babies chicks are on the way! Are you getting chicks from Cackles soon? How are they doing? I'll post photos when ours arrive.

We ordered 27:
* 5x Grey Japanese Bantams
* 5x Mottled Japanese Bantams
* 5x Silver Sebright Bantams
* 5x Mille Fleur d'Uccle Bantams
* 5x Silkies
* 1x Crele OEGB cockerel
* 1x Barred OEGB pullet

Going with medicated feed. I'll update this post with number updates if we get sent extra too.

We got the "shipping lable notice" around 2pm yesterday. Tracking says ETA Saturday. We're only a few states over in Virginia expecting them this morning 3/13/23. Will keep you all posted (called PO and nothing yet..she actually said chicks don't comw during the day unless express so might be tomorrow 🫠)

We too are getting chicks shipped yesterday, and always are nervous until they arrive! Only standards this order, 24 in all. Next week another 15, and May 15th another 15, including a few EE bantams.
Pictures are good, I'll try posting some too.
Mary

OP here! All chicks arrived today around 7am, I had to call the post office. 2 extras sent. The silkies are thriving! 😭🧡

Posting them all on instagram.com/whitsflock 😁

I have 14 chicks from cackle hatched on April 12 as well. I ordered 12, they sent two extras:

6 black amerucaunas (2 males)
4 black laced golden Wyandottes
4 French black copper marans (1 male)

these are being added to our 5 barred rocks who are 13 months old. Hopefully we will get a nice, sustainable and diversified flock going.

How’re everyone’s cheeps doing?
we are brooding outdoors in the coop. The weather has been mild until today and theyre hanging out under the warms more, but no one is complaining or looking poorly. We’ve had a few cases of pasty butt, which has been persistent on the smallest Wyandotte. We made them a tiny roost and some have been perching. I have a dust bath ready to go, but not sure when, maybe next week.

Almost the same thing here! I ordered 9 chicks from cackle, also hatched April 12. We have 3 ea of black ameraucanas, black laced golden Wyandottes, French Cuckoo Marans, and an extra Ameraucana. They are all supposed to be female. In 2 weeks we get 3 Buff Brahmas.
(and I’m also in TN)

Here are all of mine. 28 ordered, 2 bonuses sent. Kind of upset, one if the silkies (which we know folks were having issues with from Cackles this year) has a scissor beak which will be super difficult to rehome 😭

Our Cackle order hatched 4/5. Ordered 6, got 8. Every single one of them is thriving and healthy. They arrived on 4/7 first thing in the AM. They actually arrived at the post office after hours on 4/6, got the call before open on 4/7. We are in Michigan.
