I need help sexing one of my youngsters. I had thought this was a pullet (see this post-it's chick #1: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/571812/calico-cochin-thread/610#post_11554189),but here is the same bird today:



For comparison here is chick #2 from the original post, she now most definitely looks like a pullet!




So what do you think about # 1?

Not to change anyone's subject, but is anyone out there in the SC, NC, GA area that has calico bantam Cochins available? Preferably SC. I am in Easley, sc.

I am in Spartanburg SC. I seldom have ones that are what I consider Calico. I think mine are too dark to be called Calico but look on my For Sale page.

I have one that hatched from my mfc pen recently... I locked up one of my blue Columbian boys for someone that was coming to pick him up (he normally free ranged) and looks like he had something to do with this little splash guy. LOL he passed along the mottling for sure, AND the blue, to one of my blue mille girls. LOL

in the last week he's actually developed the colored spots... before that he was just splash.
debating what to do with him... don't think he's going to develop great type, just compared to a buff the same age. I could be wrong tho.

Are these Bantam Cochin Roosters considered Mille Fleur, Mottled, Calico or what?


Ooops forgot to fix the day on these. Its taken today. They were born June 1st or so.

I hatched my first chicks from my calico Cochins a couple days ago

Now I cant wait for them to start getting feathers!!
The black one is a silkie ...
