California Quail ?'s

Any of you guys hatch and incubate your california quail eggs? I have 6 california hens and 6 california roosters that are a little over a year old, Im wondering if anyone has any advice on getting your hens to lay...Do you seperate your quail with one rooster to 2 or 3 hens? Any advice will help! Thanks

I pair mine up in breeder cages during "in season" extra light helps get them started. (Off season I let them all covey)

I do know of folks who do the 2:5 ration too with good success, but they have big pens so there isn't much infighting.
